At the first annual Independence Mission Schools Academic Challenge competition Our Mother of Sorrows/ St. Ignatius Students won 3rd place in the History category!
The Academic Challenge was made up of four subjects: Writing, Science, History and Math. In the Writing Challenge students had to write an essay about the meaning of the “Character Counts” traits. The Science Challenge consisted of building and launching a rocket made from all raw materials. The History Challenge, where OMS/SI students were the big winners, required students to not only identify but also describe multiple facts about famous figures throughout history. Lastly, the Math Challenge was a 40 problem test.
Our competitors, Pamela, Jahlive, Jalen, and Kaylah represented our school well and we are so proud of them! Congrats team!
